KitchenAid manufactures at least two 14-cup coffeemakers, so be sure to check the model number before you order a replacement carafe. I made the mistake of ordering this one, which fits KitchenAid KCM5C14OB, when I should have ordered this one, KitchenAid 14 Cup Glass Carafe, which fits KitchenAid KCM222OB.The two carafes look similar in the photos, but there's an important difference. The center hole is below the top of the lid in this carafe, and it is raised above the top of the lid in the second carafe. The height of the center hole area matters for two reasons: (1) it controls the feature that lets you quickly pour a cup before the brew cycle is complete; and (2) it determines whether the carafe will fit into the coffeemaker.As long as you order the right one, the replacement carafe should work fine. The replacement carafes are "official" KitchenAid carafes that look exactly like the carafes sold with the original coffeemakers. So far, I have had no problem at all with my original KitchenAid KCM222OB carafe. I purchased a second KCM222OB carafe (not from Amazon) as a backup in case someone dropped or cracked the first one, because you must have the right carafe to be able to use the coffeemaker.

I like Kitchen Aid AND the 14 cup capacity, but the Carafe is NOT-So-Good. The rim attached to the glass comes loose after a month or so and when you pour your coffee into a cup, the coffee leaks out onto the counter. They need to find a BETTER adhesive. I am on my SECOND Carafe, and it is starting to come loose AGAIN. Joe
