Use this glass carafe daily for our morning coffee. I make our coffee in a Melitta drip maker without a warming plate. Don't like the burned taste of coffee made in a coffeemaker with warming plate. Needed a carafe large enough to hold ten to twelve cups of coffee and keep it hot without a burned taste. This Thermos Glass Carafe does the job beautifully. Keeps our coffee hot well into the late afternoon and evening, if any is left. Ordering and delivery by Amazon was excellent.

This is the worst carafe I ever had. I bought it to replace the Thermos carafe I had been using for over 10 years. After the first few days of using this new carafe, it was just as stained as the 10+ year old one I'd just thrown out. It leaks when you poor it, drizzling a teaspoon of coffee beside your cup. Your hand does not fit in the hole, so you can't clean it. It is hard to get the lid on right. It looks very plain and cheap, not nearly as nice looking as my old one. I wish I never bought it.

Carafe did not keep our coffee hot for very long at all. Worse, it dribbled down the front after each pour. Returned it after one use. Kudos to Amazon for a quick return solution and refund.PS - We had a Thermos carafe from the 1980s (made in West Germany) that just imploded one morning recently.Served us well for almost 30 years. Where did that quality go?
