Product Info

Are you having trouble getting a delicious, flavorful brew with your counter-top coffee machine? Need something portable for your Office, RV, or outdoor adventures? Tired of having to make a whole pot of coffee when all you want is one cup? Those days are over thanks to the Cuissential SlickDrip Coffee Dripper. Simply place the SlickDrip over your mug, set the paper filter, add coffee and boiling water, and your java fix will be satisfied within minutes. Thanks to its modern, FDA food-safe silicone design, the SlickDrip lasts much longer than more expensive acrylic, glass and ceramic versions. Also, unlike cheaper plastic drippers and counter-top coffee machines, silicone does not pass any odors or flavor into your coffee. Who likes plastic coffee??? For best results use a #4 or #2 coffee filter, which will keep loose grounds out of your mug. If you want more control over your coffee's flavor, and a more affordable, collapsible, alternative to glass and ceramic drippers, welcome the SlickDrip to your home. Most lightweight of the collapsible silicone drip coffee cones
Laura Stone

I spent some time trying to choose between this product and two other similar products--the GSI Outdoors Collapsible Java Drip Coffee Maker and the William Bounds Sili Gourmet Silicone Collapsible Coffee Filter Holder. I was purchasing this as a gift for my father, who does a lot of travel coast to coast, and normally brings a standard rigid plastic Melitta #2 filter cone with him to make coffee wherever he goes. This collapsible version seemed like a perfect travel accessory. At first I had ordered the GSI Outdoors product because I liked the idea of the lid that would double as a drip tray, but when I received the product, I was surprised how bulky it was. I was picturing it as really compact, for space saving in my dad's luggage, and this one just did not fit the bill. So, after scrutinizing the product descriptions of this SlickDrip versus the William Bounds model, trying to figure out which would be more compact (but with no definite answers because the product dimensions listed are for the packaged item as it is shipped, not the actual product), I ordered them both to compare side by side. Here are the specs for all three products:- SlickDrip: 3-1/2 oz. 4-1/2" diameter x 21/32" tall. Made for #2 filter.- William Bounds: 3-5/8 oz. 4-1/2" diameter x 20/32" tall. Made for #2 filter.- GSI Outdoors: 4-3/4 oz. 5 7/16" diameter x 29/32" tall. Made for #2 or #4 filter.Really the SlickDrip and William Bounds versions were pretty interchangeable, very similar in size and design. The SlickDrip just slightly won for me because it weighed a fraction less, and I liked the cheerful orange color (wouldn't be hard to spot in the depths of a dark suitcase). The William Bounds comes in a choice of red or black; the black might be a good choice if you're worried about stains, not sure if the orange or red colors might stain over time. The only way I'd see a reason to choose the GSI Outdoors model would be if you actually want the option of using a #4 filter, or if the drip tray is important to you--but to me, the extra inch in diameter and over an extra ounce of weight compared to the other products was just not worth the drip tray.

Great Design, Great Brew!

Hey, I received this SlickDrip as a gift from one of my friends who knows me well as a coffee lover. I've been experimenting lately with manual drip coffee and have a few ceramic drippers (Hario/HIC) and plastic ones (Hario). I'm trying to avoid plastic drippers due to the chemicals they release. I also wanted something a bit more durable than ceramic (fear of dropping it and they can be expensive!) I've read about silicone for some time now and have heard good things about silicone bakeware so I decided to give this SlickDrip a good try. I was fairly impressed by the quality of the brew and ease of use of the SlickDrip and have come to really enjoy using it. I find myself using it more than my other drippers based on taste of the brew and convenience.Attached is a video going into more detail about the SlickDrip and should answer a few questions about this silicone coffee dripper. Hope this helps!

Great coffee dripper
BeccaM

Love this coffee dripper. Very sturdy and well-designed, easy to clean and store. Probably best suited to one cup or mug at a time use, though, or maybe coffee for two.Anyway, with coffee prices going up, I began to regret every quarter to half pot I'd pour down the drain in the afternoon. Some days, I'd want three mug-fulls, other days something would come up and I'd only drink one.I like French press coffee, but it's often a bother and takes a while to make. I also have a Capresso drip coffee maker -- but that was the half pot I kept throwing away. So when we decided to buy an always-on automatic water boiler, the Zojirushi CV-DSC40 VE Hybrid Water Boiler and Warmer, Stainless Steel, intending to use it for coffee, tea, instant soups, and on-demand hot water, I decided to switch to a cup-at-a-time dripper.Didn't want plastic because they do add an unwanted flavor to coffee and the plastic breaks down over time. Didn't want porcelain or glass because they suck heat from the water and are breakable, plus they tend to cost a lot more. So I decided to give the SlickDrip a try.I really like the fact it's collapsible, and therefore perfect to take along for travel or camping. Once dry, you can also just collapse it and throw it in any kitchen drawer (careful though, as it doesn't look like any kind of coffee dripper cone when in the collapsed position and might be easy to overlook). The silicone rubber means it won't emit anything into the coffee, and yes, it is dishwasher safe so you can sterilize it occasionally that way. At first I was a little leery about whether it'd be strong enough to hold the coffee, filter, and the dripped water, but it seems fine. The base is sturdy and fits perfectly even over my rather large 17oz mug.For what it's worth, although they say you can use Number 4 cone filters with this dripper, I can't see a need for anything larger than a 2. You're really not going to make more than about 20oz maximum at a time with a dripper this size. Going to the larger filter seems to me just to be a waste of paper. My technique? Filter is empty, in dripper, over my mug. I dispense some water from the boiler (which is set to a resting temperature of 208F -- we're high altitude, so the actual temperature is lower, but still about perfect for coffee) to wet the filter, and warm both the dripper and the mug under it. Swirl the water, throw it away. Put about 2 1/2 scoops of coffee into the now wet filter (appropriate for the approx 16 oz of coffee I make with each serving). Put the boiler into its slow dispense mode and as the other review indicated, just add water a bit at a time to keep the grounds soaked but not soupy. In about 2-3 minutes, I have a full mug of piping hot (but not scalding) delicious coffee.Trying to be ecologically minded, we compost the used grounds and paper filters, which we then use on our gardens.Would I buy this product again? Yes. Would I recommend it to a friend? Also yes, but especially for people who travel but want to brew their own coffee.
