I was originally thrown by this item's uninspiring appearance. It's a flat plastic handle with a a head of foam rubber blocks. It's not something I expected Alfi would offer to clean its $200+ carafes.Once I plunged it into my carafe, however, this little brush showed its true colors and careful German design. Firstly, it fit the contours of the carafe enabling the entire unit to be cleaned with a few twists of the brush and some hot water.Within moments, the glass liner of the carafe was perfectly, beautifully clean. By this I mean like new, a result much better than I had achieved with other brushes.Anyone who owns an Alfi carafe, or is ordering one, should definitely, absolutely buy this item ASAP.

Through the years my household has purchased and used several iterations of a sponge-stuck-to-a-stick type apparatus with which to scrub bottles, glasses, etc. usually they last about three weeks before the sponge material starts to give way, leading to the day when the sponge is left barely hanging on to just one spot and the remainder flops and flails around ridiculously while one strains to wash as many dishes before the inevitable day when the sponge comes flying off the handle, literally. The nice surprise here is that the sponge is of an altogether different material that doesn't give way to crumbling and tearing like so many I have tried in the past. So far, two months in use and still performing well, not deteriorating.
